Module 1: Dream - Identifying your values & strengths
In Module 1, you discussed with Role Models your values and strengths and how they are related to your dreams.
In this follow up exercise, we want you to look deeper into what each value and strength mean to you.
Take out a piece of paper and fold it in half vertically. On the left side, write down 5 values that are important to you and arrange them in order from the most important to the least important. Refer to a list of Core Values here
Think about why some values are more important to you than others, you can also write down your reasoning next to each value. After you have finished writing down the 5 values, contemplate and write down what are some of the character strengths that can be built from each value on the right side of the paper.
Take your time to finish this exercise, it may take you days, weeks or even months to figure it out and it’s ok if you find yourself struggling to put some down. It takes time to get to know who you are too! Also, remember that it is fine not to have a 100% clear picture of your values and strengths, the purpose of this exercise is start you on the journey of knowing yourself.
When you have finished the exercise, put the paper somewhere that you can see regularly as a reminder for yourself. Revisit this sheet of paper every couple of months, every year or when you feel that your perspective has changed and complete this exercise again.
